The Britannia Education Trust and Tint Town Day Nursery
The Britannia Education Trust is an educational furniture charity that has been supporting schools in the UK for over a century. It is dedicated to raising standards and encouraging excellence in all aspects of education. They provide funding, training and expertise to help school leaders to ensure that all children reach their full potential.
Pupils achieve exceptionally well in English and mathematics
There are a number of education providers in the London area, and while many of them are great in their own right, only one or two are truly top-notch. Among the aforementioned are the Latymer School and Gilberd School, both of which are part of the Alpha Trust, the brainiacs of the academic world. The latter has a particularly impressive GCSE pass rate. It has the highest proportion of pupils gaining five A*-C grades in a single year of any UK secondary school.
The school is also one of the first specialist science schools in the UK, and boasts a very impressive scientific research and innovation facility. At the same time it has a reputation for being an outstanding place to teach computing and modern foreign languages. As a result, it has a plethora of eminently impressive projects in the pipeline.
Despite its modest student population, the school is one of the best in the capital in which it resides. This is reflected in a notably high GCSE pass rate, the best of any in the London area.
Safeguarding and child protection policy
The Britannia Education Trust is committed to providing a safe and fair environment for all children. In order to ensure a safe and nurturing environment, it has put in place a safeguarding and child protection policy.
The policy aims to protect children by identifying the key responsibilities of the nursery manager and staff. If an allegation is made, the policy contains procedures for handling this situation.
In the event of a disclosure, all concerns must be recorded and reported to the Safeguarding Officers. All staff must also be DBS checked.
Staff members have a professional responsibility to share information about the wellbeing of children with other practitioners. However, they should only disclose information if there is a clear need to do so. Information sharing should be done in a manner that is transparent and respectful of each other’s privacy.
In addition, it is vital that all staff are trained to recognise signs of abuse. All staff are required to attend basic safeguarding awareness training. Those working with vulnerable children will receive additional training on a regular basis.
School of leadership and management
The Britannia School of Leadership and Management (BSLAM) has an impressive suite of courses for both learners and educators. Designed to help school leaders and senior management develop the skills necessary to succeed in the modern world, BSLAM’s courses are accredited by Ofqual. In addition, the BSLAM also offers inservice training with the Teacher Development Trust, which is worth a mention in its own right.
Although the Britannia School of Leadership and Management (BSLAM) is a relatively young organisation, it has already managed to establish itself as a high-quality provider of bespoke executive training. For example, in addition to its flagship executive leadership course, the organisation has partnered with a DFE accredited NPQ provider. This collaboration has allowed the institution to offer a suite of reformed NPQs for teachers in September 2021. Aside from NPQs, the organisation offers a full complement of executive development services, including one-to-one coaching and workshops.
BSLAM is a great example of a multi-academy trust (MAT) that can offer a full spectrum of support to aspiring and established leaders alike. The organisation’s most impressive feat is its ability to operate with the same guiding principles across its academies, allowing it to leverage the expertise of each individual academe to the best possible advantage.
Tint Town Day Nursery
Tint Town Day Nursery provides a safe, stimulating and happy environment for children in the West Silvertown area. The nursery provides a range of facilities, which encourages physical, emotional, social and intellectual development in young children. This is a small, privately run centre that was established in 2004, offering bilingual education for children aged between two and eleven years old. The staff at the centre are highly skilled and passionate about educating the children they work with.
Britannia Education Trust operates a nursery, primary school and an embassy school in Moscow. Its registered office is located at Britannia Village Primary School on Westwood Road. All children are assessed prior to admission to the centre. Regardless of whether or not they pass the assessment, all children are provided with an excellent standard of care and education.
The school also implements the English National Curriculum for students from three to 18 years. The school is accredited by the Council of International Schools. Students attend from over 50 countries.
